SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Students at the University of California's 10 campuses could be looking at a substantial tuition increase.

UC President Janet Napolitano is expected to present to the system's governing board today her plan to increase tuition for undergraduate and graduate degrees by as much as 5 percent in each of the next five years.

That means the average in-state tuition of $12,192 would go up to $12,804 next fall, and up to $15,564 in the fall of 2019.
