WASHINGTON (AP) - The White House may soon approve a project to train and equip moderate Syrian rebel forces trying to oust President Bashar Assad (bah-SHAR' AH'-sahd).

Administration officials say President Barack Obama is weighing sending a limited number of American troops to Jordan to be part of a regional training mission.

There's still internal discussion about the risks of such a program.
