University Preparatory School student Patrizzia Fox-Beaudet correctly spelled both words thrown at her this morning in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
The Redding 12-year-old spelled “guillotine” correctly to advance to the third round, and in the third round she spelled “frescade” correctly.
When round three was completed, the Bee named named 46 contestants to move to the semifinals, based on correct spelling on stage and scores on yesterday’s preliminary test. Unfortunately Patrizzia wasn’t selected for the semifinals.
