Temperatures warmed to near average for mid-August on Thursday afternoon, and we're not expecting any major change for the next week. Upper level low pressure that cooled us down some the past couple of days and sparked a few thunderstorms in Siskiyou County yesterday lifted northward into Oregon today, so there were no mountain thunderstorms today. No surges of monsoon moisture are heading our way (or any additional disturbances) any time soon, so the mountains will remain quiet into next week.
Overall, typical August weather is on the way.
