Two Taken into Custody for Burglary in Oroville

Oroville Police were dispatched to Nelson's Footwear on Montogomery Street in Oroville early this morning around 12:30 a.m. for security alarm activation. Officers arrived on scene and determined the rear door of the business had been forced and subjects had entered the business. Officers located significant physical evidence to the subjects who had committed the burglary on scene.

Just after 3:30, Officers were dispatched to a report of suspicious subjects in the area of Nelson's Footwear by the owner. Officers located the subjects at Hewitt Park. The subjects Eric Izia Becerril, 18, of Oroville was accompanied by a male juvenile, 17, who was also from Oroville. A subsequent search of the individuals Officers located stolen property from Nelson's Footwear. Both Becerril, 18, and the male juvenile, 17, were taken into custody and admitted their involvement. Officers later determined the two had been also in an unrelated vehicle burglary in the downtown area.

Beccerril, 18, was booked into the Butte County Jail for burglary, possession of stolen property, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and participating in a criminal street gang. The male juvenile, 17, was booked into the Butte County Juvenile Hall for the same violations.
