Two people arrested in Paradise drug bust

Butte County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit served a search warrant in the 1500 Block of Sylvan Way in Paradise. Detectives located drugs and weapons in the residence.

The search yesterday revealed a butane honey oil lab, an indoor marijuana grow consisting of 23 marijuana plants, 4 pounds of marijuana shake, 10 pounds of marijuana bud on stem, and 20 pounds of marijuana packed into turkey oven bags, consistent with marijuana sales. Detectives also found 10 grams of psilocybin (mushrooms) a .22 caliber rifle and 12 gauge shotgun.

Detectives arrested David Metroka, 34, and Taryn Hughey, 38, both of Paradise. They were arrested for manufacturing a controlled substance, cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of psilocybin, and being armed in the commission of a felony. Bail is set at $230,000 for both individuals.
