A guide boat found and rescued two tubers this morning, they had been reported missing last night around 11:30 p.m.
The two people, Dinell Schweizer, 30, and Joshua Ratliff, 33, from Chico had been floating near an island south of Hamilton City, south of the Highway 32 Bridge. The Glenn County Sheriff’s Office found their Chevy Avalanche at Irvine Finch Park.
Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones said the two people had been using an air mattress as a tube and were both weak swimmers.
When the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office made contact with the two people this morning they were declining medical assistance, but cold from the river.
Tubers are reminded to take trips with someone who has previous experience and to always let someone know when you are leaving and when you should complete your trip.
