Two Men Are Arrested in Shasta County After High Speed Pursuit

Two men are behind bars after a vehicle pursuit where spikes were needed with the Shasta County Sheriff's office.

Last night just before eleven 44-year-old Timothy Imel of Igo was spotted driving a stolen vehicle near Westwood Ave. in Redding.

A deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over but Imel fled in the vehicle. During an approximate seven mile pursuit, Imel was fleeing at speeds between 90 and 100 MPH.

A spike stripe was deployed at Happy Valley Rd. and Palm Ave., causing two tires to deflate.

Imel exited the vehicle and began to flee on foot. Sheriff's Office K-9 Larus was released and tackled Imel around 100 yards from the vehicle.

26-year-old Charles Munsterman was in the vehicle as well, he was arrested without incident.

Methamphetamine and around 30 pounds of marijuana was found in the car.

Both men were booked into Shasta County jail for felony evading, possession of drugs, stolen property and prior outstanding warrants.

The Anderson Police Department and CHP Helicopter assisted with the pursuit.
