Two Fires Keep Chico Firefighters Busy

Two fires that broke out within a half hour of each other kept Chico firefighters busy late Tuesday night.

The first one happened at the recycling center on Fair Street.

Firefighters were called out around 10:15 Tuesday night for a pile of cardboard on fire.

Then, about a half hour later, they were called to Wilbur's Feed and Seed Store on Myers Street for what was reported as hay on fire between two buildings.

Chico firefighters, with the help of Cal Fire, were able to get it under control, but the fire did do some damage to one building.

No one was hurt in either incident.
