Two people people are in custody tonight for allegedly killing a man who they lured to answer their Craigslist ad. Authorities say 41-year-old Rene Balbuena and his 15-year-old son were ambushed the night of October 19th, when they went to a South Los Angeles location to buy a cellphone listed on Craigslist.
Authorities say the two men approached the victim's car and demanded money. When Balbuena got out of the car, one robber opened fire in front of his son.
Balbuena was shot several times and died at the scene. His son was grazed. Police say the robbers fled without getting any money.
Police announced the arrests today, but did not release the names of the suspects.
