More than a month after lightning strikes sparked a handful of wildfires in Trinity County, nearly all evacuations have been lifted.
The South Complex, Mad River Complex/Route Complex, and Fork Complex are all close to full containment, while the River Complex is 47 percent contained at 70,558 acres.
The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that all evacuations in the Route/Mad River Complex Fire, and South Complex have been lifted. All evacuations and road closures in the Fork Complex were lifted August 26.
The only mandatory evacuation still in place is in Huddleston Ranch, near the River Complex.
Since starting in late July, the fires have combined to burn more than 200,000 acres of land in Trinity County.
