Trinity Co Sheriff's identify victims in Hayfork double murder

Trinity County Sheriff’s identified Wednesday the two victims of the double homicide that happened Monday night in Hayfork.

James Jachna, 41 of Hayfork, and Amanda Patton, 21 also of Hayfork, were identified as the two victims allegedly killed by Jason Brady, 40, at home on Carter Gulch Road in Hayfork.

Investigators said details and motives of the case are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

Deputies said an unidentified individual called the sheriff's office Monday evening and told them that Brady had just admitted to killing two people at the residence.

Deputies went to the residence and witnessed an individual attempt to flee. The deputies detained the subject and found Jachna and Patton dead inside the residence.

Detectives on scene said Brady admitted to killing the two victims. Brady is currently being booked into Trinity County Jail pending further investigation.
