Trinity County Sheriffs are on the hunt for an armed bank robber Monday afternoon.
Deputies are reporting that around 1:00 p.m. a man entered the Umpqua Bank on Main Street in Weaverville armed with a semi-automatic handgun and took an unknown amount of cash.
Weaverville Elementary School was put on a soft lockdown as a precaution. Students will be released at normal times and Officers are on scene.
The suspect is described as a white male adult, clean shaven, approximately 6 feet tall wearing black pants, a long sleeve black shirt, a beanie type hat and large sunglasses.
The suspect may have either fled on foot or car.
