Tribal factions meet in federal court

The warring factions of the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians, who operate Rolling Hills Casino in Corning appeared in federal court today.

A spokesman for the state Attorney General's Office said that after today's meeting it appears there may be a resolution in the works.

Spokesman Greg Scott said both parties have agreed to hold a new tribal council election with both the current and dis-enrolled members.

In the meantime, the judge extended the restraining order that bans each side from having weapons within 100 yards of casino property, or having any arm guards on location, was extended until a court hearing scheduled for October 2.
