Transient Arrested After Being Caught With Stolen Vehicle in Redding

A Transient from San Diego is behind bars in Shasta County after allegedly stealing a car in Redding.

Yesterday, around two a.m. officers pulled over 46-year-old Carl McMullen in the area of the 99 Cent Only store on Hilltop Drive.

Mcmullen attempted to flee on foot but was taken down a short distance later by police K-9, Cain.

The car had been stolen from the Comfort Inn on Mistletoe Lane. And during the investigation, a second vehicle was found burglarized in the parking lot.

McMullen was found in possession of items from the second vehicle as well.

He was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for auto theft, receiving or possession of stolen property, burglary, possession of burglary tools, and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
