Traffic stop nets Oroville Police gun, meth bust

A routine traffic stop yielded Oroville police an armed suspect possessing a sizable amount of what appears to be methamphetamine, the Oroville Police Department announced Thursday.

Tabitha Hammons, 20, was driving near the intersection of Spencer and Ithica streets in Oroville when she was pulled over by Oroville Police for a traffic infraction. Officers pulling the suspect over conducted a search of the vehicle where they found a loaded hand gun, more than 4 grams of what appeared to be crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a stun gun.

The suspect was arrested for carrying a concealed handgun in a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was booked into the Butte County Jail with a bail set for $32,000.
