Traffic moving after Highway 99 crash north of Chico

A two car crash that sparked a vehicle fire north of Chico, blocked Highway 99 for nearly an hour late Tuesday morning.

The accident, between a pickup truck and a sedan, sparked a fire in the four-door car around 11:35 a.m. and forced the closure of Highway 99 at Broyles Road in both directions. The roadway was reopened at 12:25 p.m.

At this time the cause of the crash, or the extent of any injuries is unknown.
