The Butte County Coroner-Sheriff’s Office has released the toxicology report on 27-year-old Adam Taylor, the Paradise man killed in a collision near the intersection of Vallombrosa Avenue and Lilac Lane in Chico on New Year’s Day.
According to the coroner’s report, Taylor had a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) Level of 0.19, which is more than twice the legal limit in the state California.
We are awaiting a call back from the Chico Police Department on further information regarding Taylor’s possible whereabouts in the hours before the crash.
Just after 3 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Chico Police Officers responded to a single-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection to find a green mini cooper on fire after crashing into a tree. Officers determined Taylor was likely driving at a high rate of speed when he drove through the intersection before driving off the roadway into the road's south edge. Fire officials and witnesses attempted to extinguish the flames and save Taylor, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
