Yuba County Sheriff's Deputies say a woman was rescued from situation in which she was being raped and tortured after she posted a plea for help on Facebook.
The woman, a 41-year-old Plumas Lake resident, had been living with her longtime boyfriend, Parrish Heavans, 46, of Sacramento, but the two had broken up about a week ago, and she had filed a restraining order against him.
The woman told deputies she came home from work Thursday and Heavans was there armed with a knife. He allegedly forced the woman into her bedroom, raped her, and then cut her face with the knife.
Heavans then allegedly began using the knife to stab himself in the neck.
After the attack, Heavans took the woman's cell phone and left the room. The woman locked her bedroom door and used a tablet to post a plea for help on her Facebook page.
One of the woman's Facebook friends saw the post and notified Yuba City Authorities.
Deputies responded to the home and found the woman in her bathroom. An ambulance was already on scene and she was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Heavans has fled the home before deputies arrived, but he was ultimately arrested when he showed up at a Sacramento hospital seeking treatment for his neck injuries.
