A tornado reportedly touched down about 8 miles northeast of Willows this evening.

Along with the tornado, the National Weather Service has reported hail from half an inch to an inch big.

The tornado reportedly touched down at 5:56 p.m. and at this time the extent of any damages is unknown.

The national weather service would like to remind people that during a tornado the safest place to be is in a basement. People should stay under a workbench or other piece of sturdy furniture. If no basement is available, seek shelter on the lowest floor of the building in an interior hallway or a closet. Use pillows or blankets to cover your body.
