Mostly sunny skies, and hotter temperatures are ahead for the north state in your Thursday forecast. Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid to high 90's for the valley, and mountain areas will have high 80's to mid 90's this afternoon. Winds will stay light, and only gust up to around 10mph out of the Southwest.
Clouds will continue to retreat to the Southeast of our area, as the trough of low pressure that brought them to the region progresses away from the north state. Mostly sunny skies are expected for the entire area today, but there will be a chance for thunderstorms returning to the mountains this afternoon.
The heat will continue across the north state through next week, and there will also be a continuing chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains through Monday. I hope everyone has a great Thursday!
