Partly cloudy skies, a modest decrease in temperatures, and a slight potential for active conditions are ahead for the north state in your Tuesday forecast. The best chance for showers/thunderstorms will be ahead for the Sierra and Cascades late this afternoon into the evening, but there will be a chance of active conditions across the entire region tonight. The potential for active conditions will only linger in the Sierra/Cascade Ranges tomorrow, and then mild weather will take hold of the region for the rest of the week.
Temperatures are starting out in the mid to high 70's for the valley this morning, and in the mid 50's to mid 60's in the mountains. Afternoon high temperatures are projected to climb into the high 90's to around 100 degrees in the valley, and into the mid 80's to mid 90's in the higher elevations. Winds will be out of the South to around 10mph, and humidity values will only fall to around 35 percent in the afternoon.
Cooler temperatures are ahead for the latter part of the work week. Valley locations are expected to be in the high 80's to low 90's on Thursday, before rebounding into the low to mid 90's for the weekend. Temperature will then return to around or above average towards the start of next week. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!
