Showers and thunderstorms erupted in the mountains Monday, and should continue overnight and Tuesday. There's even a slight chance one could move into the Valley! An unstable upper level low pressure system will track across the North State overnight, keeping the atmosphere unstable and the mountain thunderstorms going... They normally weaken after sunset, but not tonight. It's possible one could slip into the Valley. This low will be gone by Tuesday evening, but another disturbance from the Pacific will fire mountain thunderstorms up again on Wednesday... Those should remain in the mountains, however. The mountain T-Storm activity should quiet down by Thursday.
Temperatures were seasonably hot Monday, but will cool down on Tuesday and remain mild for the rest of the week. Temperatures will warm to near average by this weekend as high pressure returns.
