If you like car races then this story is for you.
The Sports Car Club of America presents the second of four race weekends featuring several classes of road racing vehicles at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows.
Over 200 drivers are racing in six groups on Saturday, May 17th, and Sunday, May 18th.
Points are handed out to those who finish on the podium and will count toward the final championship payoff totalling over $40,000.
Gates open at 8am both days with on-track racing and qualifying scheduled at 9am.
Thunderhill Raceway Park CEO David Vodden, who's racing in the event himself, says it's a great chance to get out and catch some serious racing action.
"We're racing seriously wheel to wheel from the green flag to the checkered flag on a 3-mile high speed course, I would hope some people watching this would say Thunderhill, road racing, high speed, lots of cars, real racing, it's great, great motorsports."
Vodden said round three in the four race big-money series will take place as part of the Grand Opening celebration of the new 5-mile track at Thunderhill on June 20th and 21st.
