Three Orland residents named to Glenn County Fair Board of Directors

Gov. Jerry Brown has appointed Staci Buttermore, Jacob Chavez, and Cheryl Howard, all of Orland, to the 42 District Agricultural Association, Glenn County Fair Board of Directors.

Buttermore, 46, has served on the board since 2010 and has been the owner and operator of Buttermore Rancho Costa Lota since 1998. She previously held the position of Executive Director of the Glenn County Farm Bureau from 1998 to 2010 as well as the office manager for the Arizona Public Works Department in Page, Ariz., from 1991 to 1997. Buttermore is also a 4-H leader in Glenn County.

Chavez, 43, has owned the Hay Wagon Inc. since 2003 and was formerly a packaging operator at John’s Manville from 2001 to 2002. Chavez is a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the California Deer Association.

Howard, 53, has been an animal control officer with the Chico Police Department since 1998 and has owned and operated H Bar Livestock since 1985. She formerly owned and operated Gatlin Farms from 1993 to 1997 and was an animal tech supervisor at the University of California, Davis’ Veterinary Animal Resource Services from 1985 to 1993.
