Three teens were arrested for allegedly burglarizing and vandalizing a vacant home on the 400 block of Chestnut Street in Corning.
Corning Police were called to the area around 3 p.m. yesterday after a report of vandalism. When they arrived they heard glass breaking and other loud noises coming from inside the residence.
Officers discovered broken windows and then entered the home.
Officers located three juveniles inside the home. Two juveniles were taken into custody while one of the juveniles tried to escape and was apprehended shortly after.
Inside the home there were 10 broken light fixtures, eight broken windows, four broken doors, 23 holes in various walls, a broken toilet bowl cover, a knocked over refrigerator, and damage to the kitchen stove.
All three teens were booked into Tehama County Juvenile Detention Center for burglary, vandalism, conspiracy, and resisting a peace officer.
