Officials say nearly 12,000 marijuana plants have been destroyed as part of a law enforcement raid in Plumas County.

Plumas County Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Peay says authorities found the plants Wednesday ranging from six inches to four feet tall, roughly 15 miles east of Quincy.

Peay says the characteristics of the grow are consistent with the gardens of large Drug Trafficking Organizations operated by the Mexican Cartels.

Nobody was found at the grow site, and no arrests have been made.
