After a ten day search authorities located and arrested 19-year-old murder suspect Gabino Madera at a Corning home Friday morning.
As part of their search, deputies responded to a residence on Woodson Avenue in Corning where Madera has been known to hangout.
Madera was at the home and upon seeing police he barricaded himself inside of a bedroom. Tehama County Detectives, members of the TIDE Task Force, California Department of Fish & Wildlife, and the Corning Police Department set up a perimeter and within minutes Madera walked out and turned himself in.
Madera was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail for murder and conspiracy to commit murder, his bail has been set at 1,000,000.
Investigators say 19-year-old Poly Duenas Sanchez, of Corning, shot 24-year-old Walter Dewayne Dani, of Red Bluff, in the head on July 9 outside a Gerber convenience store, but witnesses said three men fled the scene in a sedan.
Sanchez was arrested and charged with murder on July 10 and 19-year-old Lucio Madera was arrested and charged with an open count of murder on July 12.
