Tuesday was yet another warm day around the North State, and very little will change in our weather for the rest of the week. This weekend looks a bit cooler, however.
High pressure continues to keep us warm, and the jet stream well north of California. The ridge won't change this week, so neither will our weather. Yesterday's north winds shifted to more southerly on Tuesday, so Valley highs cooled a bit as a result. But... that's about it for excitement in the weather department these days.
This weekend could see some changes come our way. A storm will drop southward from the Pacific Northwest, but that's a very dry direction for a storm to move from... All the rain (even most of the clouds) will be left behind in the Pacific Northwest. Our traditionally wet storms move in straight from the Pacific Ocean. This weekend storm will certainly cool us down some... but it doesn't look like it will be able to bring any rain.
Next week looks to start dry as well. Long range models are indicating a series of cold, wet storms to arrive the following weekend, however. That's still a LONG way out, and plenty could change... but it is something we'll watch carefully over the next week as we continue to enjoy the warm weather.
