Triple digit heat, and the potential for very active conditions are ahead for your Tuesday forecast. It's another extremely warm start to the day, with valley locations in the mid 70's to low 80's, and mountain areas in the low 50's to low 60's. Afternoon high temperatures will be in the 100 to 104 degree range for the valley, and in the high 80's to low 90's in the mountains. There has already been an impressive amount of thunderstorm activity in the far northern end of the state so far this morning, and that threat is expected to dip to the South throughout the day. Mountain areas, the foothills, and the northern end of the valley could all have thunderstorms accompanied by heavy showers this afternoon. The best potential for widespread activity returns to the region after 1pm. Winds today will be out of the Northwest up to around 10mph.
A better potential for active weather, and much cooler temperatures are ahead for Wednesday. There will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms for the entire north state on Wednesday, with a decreasing chance of active weather around 5pm. Temperatures will be much cooler, with valley locations expected to top out in the mid to high 80's. Temperatures will quickly rebound back into the high 90's to low triple digits on Thursday. Widespread triple digit heat will be ahead for the end of your work week forecast. Temperature will then fall into the low to mid 90's on Sunday. I hope everyone finds a good way to beat the heat over the next several days, and has a great Tuesday!
