A Tehama County man will serve 28 years to life in prison for child molestation after being convicted of sex crimes against children for the third time.
According to a news release from the Tehama County District Attorney's Office, 35-year-old Jamal Fritz was convicted of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, and child molestation after a trial in April.
Fritz had a relationship with a 17-year-old female and an investigation was launched when the victim's family notified his parole officer, who then found sexually explicit text messages between the two.
Frtiz had prior convictions for sex crimes against children leading to an enhanced sentence under California's three strikes law.
