A Tehama County man convicted of torturing three men during a violent home invasion robbery will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
In August, Alfredo Garcia was convicted of 29 felonies, including torture, robbery, assault and false imprisonment. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to 98 years to life in prison.
Prosecutors say Garcia hired three men to help him tend to a marijuana grow in Cottonwood, and put them up in a mobile home.
Garcia came to believe the men were stealing from him, so on Thanksgiving Day last year, he and two acquaintances broke into the mobile home, tied them up and beat them with rifles and a pistol.
Garcia proceeded to steal cell phones, cash and a car from the victims. He was eventually arrested in Tehama County last April.
