Tehama County Sheriff's Officials say an autopsy was performed today on the body of an inmate who died in the county jail this week.
Edward Robinson, 62, of Corning was in custody facing charges of trespassing, public intoxication, and having an illegal dagger.
Deputies say Robinson was placed in an observation cell at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday after he became disruptive. He was found unresponsive an hour and a half later.
Investigators say the autopsy did not reveal the exact cause of death and will not be complete until toxicology results are returned, which could take weeks.
