Tehama County Sheriff Deputies arrested 35-year-old Jesse Allan Sanders and 30-year-old Lori Sue Salminen after Sanders allegedly attempted to strike one of the deputies with his elbow and fled from officers during a pat down. Salminen was later found to be a fugitive who fled a warrant for her arrest in Colorado.

Just before 6:30 p.m. on February 16, the deputies conducted a consensual pat down of Salminen and Sanders who were walking by the Rancho Tehama Church on Rancho Tehama Road in Corning. According to deputies, Sanders attempted to strike a deputy with his elbow and tried to flee the scene. Sanders was reportedly ordered to stop but continued to run from the deputies. A K9 unit was utilized and bit Sanders on his left forearm and shoulder.

Sanders was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment and later booked into the Tehama County Jail for resisting arrest, possession of 4 grams of methamphetamine, and possession of a syringe.

After Salminen was detained, deputies learned she was a fugitive from justice out of the state of Calorado. She was subsequently booked and arrested on a no bail warrant.
