With the financial toll from two major storms rising, Tehama County officials have declared a local state of emergency.
A local state of emergency declaration provide assistance to local emergency workers and help with recovery, it also lays the groundwork for state and federal financial aid.
The request for a local state of emergency was made by Sheriff Dave Hencratt after the first round of heavy rain pounded the North State nearly two weeks ago, leaving 100 homes and businesses with flood damage. Last week's storm brought even more flood damage.
