UPDATE (12:05): Investigators have determined that the suspicious package at the Tehama County court house contained legal documents and does not pose any threat.
Law enforcement officials are still on the scene after the Tehama County Courthouse was evacuated this morning.
The Tehama County Courthouse was evacuated around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday after a bailiff discovered a suspicious package.
The Red Bluff Daily News has reported that the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office evacuated a 300-foot radius around the main court house building that included the court house annex, which houses the Clerk and Recorders office and other county offices. The Tehama County Jail falls outside the evacuation radius and was not impacted.
All of today’s court proceedings have been postponed until further notice.
