A groundbreaking ceremony was held today for the new Tehama County courthouse in Red Bluff.
The courthouse will be located at the site of the old Juvenile Hall on Walnut Street, which is being demolished to clear ground for the new county courthouse.
The A.O.C. purchased property and completion is expected around the fall of 2016. The building will house five courtrooms in over 60,000 square feet, and will replace the two overcrowded court facilities. The new building will also contain better security features and consolidate all services under one roof.
The project is expected to cost around $56 million.
