A portion of Highway 99 West in Corning is closed to traffic as construction crews prepare to tear down and replace the bridge over Thomes Creek.
Highway 99 West will be closed from Gyle Road to Sonoma Avenue starting Tuesday for the next ten days as demolition crews begin work.
Southbound traffic can use Gyle Road to Interstate 5 and follow detour signs to Finnell Avenue. Northbound traffic is being re-directed to Finnell Avenue to get onto I-5 and follows detour signs to Gyle Road.
Replacement of the bridge will cost the county approximately $5.7 million.
