Tehama County Sheriff’s deputies assisted the United States Marshalls in capturing an armed robbery fugitive in Corning Wednesday night, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Marshals received information that suspect Charles Fredrick Justus, 22, was hiding at a residence near the 20000 block of Canal View Drive in Corning.

Deputies, along with a Tehama County Sheriff’s Office K-9, a California Highway Patrol fixed wing aircraft, and US Marshals were able to track Charles Justus to a location two miles south of the residence.

Charles Justus was located hiding in a tree near Thomes Creek armed with a handgun.

Charles Justus surrendered without incident, was taken into custody, and booked into the Tehama County Jail on several parole violations and robbery warrant that took place outside of Tehama County.
