Police have arrested a man they say shot and killed a fellow gang member late Wednesday night outside the Crossroads market in Gerber.

Initial reports indicated the involvement of three individuals who fled the scene in a older maroon "boxy" style sedan, but investigators say it was 19-year-old Poly Duenas Sanchez, of Corning who shot 24-year-old Walter Dewayne Dani, of Red Bluff, in the head a little before 11:00 p.m.

Sanchez was located and arrested by detectives around 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

Police are still searching for the boxy sedan, the weapon, believed to be a shotgun, and the two other individuals spotted at the scene.
