A man died in Richfield Wednesday morning when he suffered a heart attack while driving on River Road near Napa Road.

Around 7:45 a.m. California Highway Patrol Officers responded to reports of a silver Ford Taurus that had gone off the road and hit a power pole.

The car rolled off the road and tapped the power pole, causing very little damage to the vehicle and pole.

PG&E crews are making repairs to the power pole.

The Tehama County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to confirm that a heart attack was the cause of death.
