The Tehama County Courthouse has been re-opened for business after a bomb squad disarmed what appeared to be bomb made up of two sticks of dynamite.
The device was discovered around 7:30 a.m. on the west side of the courthouse near the judge's entrance. No one was allowed inside the building until after the device was disarmed.
A spokesperson at the scene said the device looked like two sticks of dynamite with wires when technicians looked at it through the camera attached to a robotic rover used to get close to potentially dangerous devices. Upon further investigation, officials say it appears the device did not contain actual explosives.
This is the fourth time this year a bomb squad has had to be called in to destroy a suspicious item.
