Two teenagers are safe after a search and rescue near the Feather River in Oroville Monday night.

Butte County Sheriff's Officials told Action News Now at around 10:30 p.m. a 17-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl were walking at the old cemetery on 7TH Street and Phillips Way on the bluff overlooking the Feather River

Investigators say the teens slipped and fell over the edge.

The boy was holding onto a bush after a 30-foot fall while the girl's fall was stopped by a tree 30 to 40 feet below the boy.

One of them called 911, allowing rescuers to locate the teens.

Search and Rescue believe the two were down there for at least 30 minutes.

Cal Fire along with the Sheriff's Office and Oroville Police were on hand to repel down and rescue the teens.

Neither one of them were badly injured. The Boy was arrested and booked into to Butte County Juvenile Hall for being under the influence.
