A teenage girl was found at approximately 9:30 a.m. this morning after falling off a 100-foot cliff near Turtle Bay last night, according to a Fish and Game employee who found her.
According to the Fish and Game employee, the man found the teenage girl about a half-mile from the Sundial Bridge. The employee stated the girl was still conscious when he found her and said she had fallen off a cliff and had been lying there all night. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene about an hour after the employee found her.
The Sheriff’s Department confirmed with Action News Now they responded this morning to Turtle Bay in response to a 911 call for a person down a cliff. They were not able to release more information at this time.
Rob Pitt with the Redding Fire Department also confirmed a couple of their engines responded to the scene but were unable to gain access to the teenage girl. Pitt stated the teenage girl was loaded onto a sheriff’s boat and transported her to an awaiting ambulance who reportedly drove her to Mercy Medical Center.
Pitt also confirmed the girl was conscious at the time of her rescue, but her condition has not been officially confirmed.
