Prosecutors say a 14-year-old boy will face criminal charges in the death of an Anderson teen who snorted rat poison that he believed was cocaine.
According to the Shasta County District Attorney's Office the 14-year-old boy who supplied 16-year old Jimmy Cramer and two other teens with strychnine did not intend to harm anyone.
The boy who supplied the poison told investigators he found a bottle containing white powder in his garage. Cramer died when he ingested the poison on August 22, the other teens who took the substance are expected to be ok.
Shasta County Deputy District Attorney Tom Toller says while it has been determined the boy will face some charge, but it has not been determined what that charge will be. Toller also said the boy will not be prosecuted as an adult.
No charges are being pursued against the 14-year-old boy's parents.
