Red Bluff police say a 17-year-old was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly brought a pellet gun altered to look like a semi-automatic hand gun to school.

Officers called to Red Bluff High School around 7:45 a.m. after school administrators reported a potentially armed student.

Upon arrival, officers immediately located and detained the student, who they say has an extensive criminal history.

A search of the student’s backpack revealed the gun, as well as a knife.

The student was arrested on suspicion of possessing weapons on school grounds, and having an altered imitation firearm.
