Teen arrested for assaulting Red Bluff Police Officer

A Red Bluff teen is behind bars after he allegedly attacked a police officer.

Red Bluff police got a report of a fight Sunday around 5:50 p.m. at City Park on Riverside Way.

The victims, Kevin Talley, 48, and Ashley Olyear, 27, both of Red Bluff gave a description of the suspect which was Talley’s 17-year-old son.

Police found the teen near Sycamore and Rio Street.

As the officer was yelling at the suspect from his vehicle the teen charged the officer and threw several punches at him.

The teen then ran but was caught by another officer and arrested without further incident.

He was booked into the Tehama County Juvenile Justice Center for battery on a peace officer and violently resisting arrest.
