A teenager was arrested Tuesday night after he allegedly led police on a car chase through the streets of Corning.

The 15-year-old, accompanied by two family members, turned himself into police Tuesday night saying he was the suspect officers had been chasing through the city earlier in the night.

Corning police attempted to pull over a white Honda Accord around 8:20 p.m. The driver failed to yield and drove through the city with disregard to traffic signs. The vehicle eventually shut down on a gravel road and the driver along with two other suspects fled.

Corning police called in the Tehama County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol to assist in the search, but authorities were unable to locate the suspects.

Charges against the 15-year-old will be filed with Tehama County juvenile probation and officers plan on making contact with the other suspects Wednesday.
