A High School history teacher has been questioned about some questionable tweets posted on her personal account regarding her summer school students in Newark, California.

Officials say that history teacher Krista Hodges has been sending tweets that targeted her summer school students. One tweet read quote: "The problem with teaching summer school is I'm gonna get all the (expletive) who failed my class, two of whom I wish would get hit by a car." Another tweet from June 23rd read quote: "So happy to be done with school for 10 days, but especially to be away from the ones who truly try my patience and make my trigger finger itchy."

Many students who saw the tweets over the summer thought that she was having a bad day and say she was not serious. Students say she had some really bad students for summer school and that she was probably frustrated. Others thought the comments were disheartening.

The Newark Unified School District released a statement Thursday, saying it took appropriate disciplinary steps. School officials say that Hodges has not been suspended and is still teaching.
