Tired of eating at the same old places? A new restaurant in town is hoping to jump start your taste buds with unique menu items, like frog legs! "My brother has been the best cook in town anyway, so he decided to start a restaurant," family member Laura Dietrich stated.
The Tackle Box Bar and Grill is located on East Park Avenue in Chico. The restaurant opened in April and the bar opened in July. The restaurant offers a variety to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They even have frog legs and alligator! "Very good, the alligator was good as well as the frog legs, I think I like the frog legs a little more but it was good," Chico resident Jeff Eggleston explained. "They were good but I felt like hopping when we were done and the alligator, it was good, I never had alligator in my life," Chico resident Doug Maxfield said.
In addition to great food and drinks, employees hope the live music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings will lure in a big crowd. "I like the atmosphere, I came in Friday and had a great time with some of my friends. They had a band playing, good drinks and good people," Eggleston stated.
If you are planning a fishing or hunting trip, you could easily grab lunch and all your supplies at the same time! The restaurant is located right next to the Tackle Box sporting goods store. "What other place can you go have a cocktail and go buy a firearm? That's a great place," Chico Resident Eric Gregerson explained.
"If you're not having a good time, well, you're probably in the wrong place," Dietrich said.
The restaurant opens daily at 6:30 a.m.
